Play Areas
Alongside work with schools' external areas, Artemis are also involved in the design of public play spaces.

Our design ethic is very much geared towards 'natural play', and where possible we work with the existing setting/ landform which we enhance to create exciting, inspiring places to enjoy exploring equipment, evoking the imagination.

Current projects we are involved in include a brand new play area in Litchborough, Boughton Pocket Park and Northampton's Racecourse.

The latter two areas are working in conjunction with the River Nene Regional Park, and stem from work we have carried out with them on the government's Playbuilder Scheme. Part of the National Play Strategy, this scheme aims to change the way children’s play spaces are commissioned, designed and built. Artemis were brought in to present to groups applying for funding for play areas via Playbuilder, in order to reinforce the design principles that are required of these schemes, and how working with a professional designer can help achieve these requirements.
