Town Centre Front and Rear Garden

Brief

To design and plant up the new front approach to a recently extended Victorian town house, creating interest (particularly textures) and some privacy / screening from the adjacent, busy streetscape. The rear to be low maintenance; largely hard landscaping with some raised borders. To incorporate and area for the dogs and allow for new garage.

Client

Busy dance tutor whose studio was approached through the front garden design.

Implementation

Artemis’ design involved a detailed planting scheme and the planting up of the garden to compliment the recent works to the house and existing pathways. Soft, wafty grasses and perennials were used with a large, specimen twisted hazel underplanted with bulbs, and some voracious tall grasses working echoing the Victorian railings to the street.
The rear incorporated a number of triangular-shaped themed raised beds and paving set on a complimentary angle adding perspective and broken up with different textures.
